Some Growth Features of Barbel Fish Population (Luciobarbus kottelati Turan, Ekmek i, lhan & Engin, 2008) in Ad güzel Dam Lake (Denizli)

In this study, 144 specimens were examined for determination to some biological features of Luciobarbus kottelati population in Ad güzel Dam lake, which was described as a new species in the first time in 2008. Age classes were ranged from I to VI in the population. The female: male ratio was found 1:3.5. The fork lenght and total weight ranged from 13.2 to 32.3 cm and from 40.1 to 572.7 g respectively for all specimens. Lenght-weight relationship found was as W=0.0099 L3.1382 (R2= 0.9746). Von Bertalanffy equation was calculated as Lt=37.09 [1–e-0.231(t+1.49)] for sex combined. Condition factor varied from 1.45 to 1.57. According to GSI, the spawning period is occured between March and May.
