Abstract:

Tetralogy of Fallot is the most common cause of cyanotic congenital heart disease. The classic patient form is associated with varying degrees of hypoplasia of the central and peripheral pulmonary arteries, with valvar pulmonary atresia and collateral aortopulmonary vessels occupying the extreme end of the spectrum. Accurate assessment of the size and anatomy of the pulmonary arteries and details about mapca (main aortopulmonary collateral artery) are often difficult with echocardiography and conventional ci-neangiography. Compared with echocardiography in particular, cardiac CT imaging with three-dimensional reconstruction has distinct advantages for pre- or postoperative assessment of the pulmonary anatomy, functional shunts, shunt complication, closure of VSD and mapca in patients with tetralogy of Fallot. CT imaging enables the clear and complete depiction of anatomy and thus can provide additional information about cardiovascular abnormalities that are difficult to evaluate with conventional cardiac imaging techniques."nIn this article, we will follow up cases of Fallot tetralogy after corrective surgery and compare them by CT imaging which was performed with 4-row multidetector CT.
