Quelques conside rations sur le roman que be cois du terroirKeywords: land novel , ideology of conservation , land , family , religion , Quebec society Abstract: The article discusses the defining features of the land novel in Quebec, which became a social phenomenon in French Canada in the late 19th and early 20th century. It analyzes the influence of the Catholic Church, which founded and championed the ideology of preserving the values of French Canada, as an ideology that has some fundamental landmarks as: the land (including agriculture), the family, the traditions, the language and the religion. By analyzing the works of certain authors belonging to the literary trend we discover that conservative ideology and, at the same time, the evolution of Quebec literature in relation to society was overrun by industrialization and progress
