Pana t Istrati`s literary works can be divided into two categories: first that describes the Romanian culture and the second which focuses on the description of other civilizations as Greek, Oriental, Ottoman; the writing language is always French. The author identifies the specific cultural elements and maintains them in French using strategies as literal translation and reports of foreign words.
