A Comparative Study of Simulation Program for Cache Memory Performance Assessment

In this paper we present a comparative study of two simulation programs, programs we have elaborated for the study of cache performance in the design phase. The first program is called Cache and is a trace-driven simulator and the second one is a simulator named, CDLR SPEC 2000. Cache is a simulation program for the analysis of cache memory systems. CDLR SPEC 2000 is a simulator based on traces for systems with cache memories. Despite the hitrate and miss rate parameters, reliability issues are also considered.
