Tableaux vivants. Museum’s representation in movies Tableaux vivants. La rappresentazione del museo nel cinema

This article aims to highlight some aspects that mark the cinematographic representation of museum, in the belief that movies are profitable to comprehend the nature of museum institution and the way it acts on the imaginary. It will be considered some movies (Night at the Museum; Russian Ark; Belfégor; Bande à part; All the Vermeers in New York; Dressed to Kill, La Ville Louvre), with a focus on Straub-Huillet’s Une visite au Louvre, where the idea of narrative sequence is challenged, bringing back cinema to an intensive immobility and suggesting that museum can be a place of a shared poetics. L’articolo si propone di evidenziare alcuni aspetti che contraddistinguono la rappresentazione cinematografica del museo, nella convinzione che il cinema sia utile per comprendere la natura dell’istituzione museale e il suo modo di agire sull’immaginario. Verranno considerati alcuni film (Una notte al museo; Arca russa; Belfagor; Bande à part; Tutti i Vermeer di New York; Vestito per uccidere, La Ville Louvre) e verrà prestata particolare attenzione a Une Visite au Louvre di Straub-Huillet, dove la nozione di sequenza narrativa viene messa in discussione per riportare il cinema a un’immobilità intensiva, e suggerire un’idea di museo come puro luogo di poetica condivisa.
