Compliance in Patients with Chronic Hip and Knee PainKeywords: Adherence , musculoskeletal pain , pain in family , psychology Abstract: Objectives. The search of probable correlations between the relations among the family and therapeutic compliance of individuals with pain in the knee or the hip. Objective is the investigation of statistical relations between the compliance of patients with the particular pain with various familial or fellow factors. The factors that are examined are the hostility, various factors of familial environment as well as the way of confrontation interpersonal relations from the patients. Methods. 65 patients took part in the research, from 18-70 years old, with pain in knee/s or/and in hip/s that were married or living with a partner. The collection of data was realised from February 2010 up to June of the same year. The sample research, from the proportional statistical treatment was then separated in two teams, the patients with mild or poor compliance and the patients with good compliance. The inquiring tools which were used were the following: a) Hostility and Direction of Hostility Questionnaire and b) Family Environment Scale. Results. The most important result of this study is the statistical significance that resulted for the factor of control in the family. Based on the scale of Familial Environment for subscale “control” resulted a statistically important significance between the two compared teams of patients (P=0,025). The families of patients with good compliance are conditioned by more powerful control. These are more organised hierarchically and have more powerful rules. Conclusions. The patients’ families with greater compliance are governed by a powerful control. They are more organized hierarchically, have stronger rules and more entrenched operating procedures.
