Burnout?“ – No, thanks, I’m done“. How the presence of burnout affects health assessment. Keywords: Burnout , Resonance , Health , Illness , Virus Abstract: The aim of the study at hand is to investigate the influence of the perceived presence of burnout with respect to the assessment of one’s own health. Previous research has dealt extensively with the influences promoting burnout and the syndrome itself. The present work extends the perspective of the research and examines the impact of the syndrome that manifests itself in its universal presence relating to media coverage and to social, interpersonal and communicative aspects. Furthermore, the influence of the characteristic trait susceptibility on the relationship between the presence of burnout and the individual burnout condition is investigated. The results show a significant connection between the perceived general presence of burnout and the individual burnout levels of the subjects. Moreover the individual components of the presence of burnout (media coverage / social and communicative aspects) can predict the individual burnout levels significantly. Furthermore, it was demonstrated that susceptibility has a moderating influence on the process of the presence of burnout effecting the burnout level. When susceptibility is above average, it can predict the burnout level significantly.Sorry, this entry is only available in German.
