Em Busca da Justi a Ambiental e do Desenvolvimento Sustentável na Sociedade de Risco

This present article promotes a reflection about the global crises that currently comes upon human society; which has already been denominated under risk. There is a need for changes, requiring the creation of new action models towards the sustainable development and including the fight for environmental justice as an extension of the modern movement for civil rights. The production of this article began with the problematization of some questions that are presented today as characteristics of modernity and man-nature crisis. The paradigm of modernity will induce nature's collapse and consequently the humanity's own collapse, both based on a profoundly capitalistic lifestyle. However, as the paradigm of modernity will approach such collapse, the nature of the risk society itself is the one to point out an ambivalence related to both: disasters and opportunities. Facing some of these evidences, this article contains relevant concepts and reflections to facilitate a better comprehension of human relationships with his own being, with the others, and especially with the environment in which he is immersed. Overall, there is a search for reencounter a balanced human and nature relationship as a way to reach preservation, sustainable development and environmental justice standards among the so called risk society.
