Abstract:

Idealized rheological material models (ideal spring, ideal viscous element, etc.) are used for the mathematical description of mechanical behavior of solid polymers. Material equations for the description of material properties (creeping, relaxation) can be made from these models with optional linking. In this study we demonstrate a procedure for writing down of different material equations from Onsager’s law of conduction using tools of irreversible thermodynamics. This principle is illustrated by demonstration of material equation of a body from five elements. Under this procedure material parameters (flexibility modulus, creeping factor, relaxation constant, etc.) are explained in thermodynamic route by traditional measures.
