HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT OF TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT AND ENTERPRISES

The paper lists the major turning points in the history of the Department and the different phases of its evolution. It describes the features of the specialized higher education institutes in the context of the Hungarian building industry in the 1950-70’s. The paper gives a brief outline of the circumstances in which the Technical College was establishes and how this department, which was a novelty at that time in the region was set up and it mentions some of the difficulties the department had to face at its start. There is an overview of the development of new courses, the establishment of new majors and the beginnings of scientific research projects.
