EFFECT OF MATRA BASTI OF PANCHATIKTA GHRITA IN PSORIASIS

Psoriasis is a papulosquamous disorder occurs due to altered kinetics, affects 1 to 2% of world’s population. In Ayurveda this disorder may be correlated with mandala kushtha, a type of mahakushta described by Acharya Charaka. Basti, one of the significant procedures of Panchakarma is used for treatment of Psoriasis. In present study effect of Matra basti (of Panchatikta ghrita) was evaluated on psoriasis. 21 patients were subjected to study and were followed up weekly. At the end of 3rd week the results were assessed. Good response was found in 49% cases and in 38% patients’ fair response was observed.
