Visual culture and sceneries of narratives and memories ///// Cultura visual e o cenário das narrativas e memórias

A cultura visual deve ser tratada desde um ponto de vista muito mais ativo se baseando no papel determinante que ela desempenha na cultura mais ampla à qual pertence como afirma Mirsoeff (2003). Nesse sentido, ela realiza aqueles momentos nos quais o visual se p e no interdito, se debate e se transforma como um lugar sempre desafiante de intera o social e defini o em forma de classe, gênero e identidade. Neste artigo será apresentado um relato sobreo encontro de uma das autoras, quando menina, com a escritora Carolina Nabuco, tendo nos levado a refletir sobre a fun o principal da cultura visual – segundo as palavras do autor acima citado - de poder dar sentido a variedade infinita de realidade exterior mediante a sele o, interpreta o e representa o da dita realidade. ///// The visual culture should be treated from a point of view much more active based on the role determining that it plays in the larger culture to which it belongs as stated Mirsoeff (2003). In this sense, it performs those moments when the visual goes down in the interdict, struggles and turns as a place where social interaction and challenging setting in the form of class, genderand identity. This paper deals with a story about meeting with the writer Carolina Nabuco and one of the authors, as a girl, having led the authors of this paper to reflect on the main function of visual culture - in the words of the author quoted above - visual culture has the power to make sense of infinite variety of external reality through the selection, interpretation and representation of that reality.
