Struma ovarii: A rare case reportKeywords: Struma ovarii , Teratoma , Total abdominal hysterectomy , Bilateral oophoro-salphingectomy , Histopathology Abstract: Struma ovarii belongs to the group of monodermic teratomas. It is a rare varity of ovarian neoplasm. The condition is difficult to identify without histopathological examination. Surgery is the only treatment because malignant alteration is possible and thyroid hyperactivity or hyperthyroidism may occur. Our patient had unilateral, large, multilobulated adnexal mass of 10x10x10cm size without any thyroid hyper activity. Total abdominal hysterectomy with bilateral oophoro-salphingectomy was preformed. Histopathological examination confirmed Struma ovarii. The post operative follow up was uneventful.
