Abstract:

Significant developments have been achieved in assisted reproductive technology during the last two decades to boost livestock production. In vitro production of embryos is currently the central focus of these modern ARTs in livestock industry including goat industry. For any successful IVP program, in vitro culture (IVC) of fertilized oocytes or embryos is very critical stage. An optimum environment in IVC medium which mimics the uterine environment is necessary for the proper growth and development of intreacyto plasmic spream injechlan on ICSI-derived goat embryos in vitro. The success of IVC depends on the various factors such as osmolarity and ionic composition, temperature, pH and CO2, oxygen, carbohydrates, amino acids, lipids and fatty acids, proteins, growth factors and cytokines, etc. Any deviation from the appropriate environment could lead to embryonic arrest at any stage of development. This review describes the factors affecting growth and development of ICSI-derived goat embryos in IVC medium.
