PECTIN BASED INSITU GELLING SYSTEM OF SALBUTAMOL FOR ORAL SUSTAINED DRUG DELIVERYKeywords: In situ gelling system , pectin , in vitro release , In vitro gelation Abstract: The purpose of this research was to develop and evaluate in situ gel of Salbutamol sulphate. Pectin is used as a crosslinking agent. The solutions contained calcium ions in complex form, which on release in the acidic environment of the stomach caused gelation of the pectin. The in vitro release study was performed in acidic medium followed by basic medium for about 8 hrs. The stability studies were carried out for 3 month and the pH, drug content, Viscosity. In vitro gelation capacity of the formulated sols were examined for proving that such formulations are homogenous liquid when administered orally and become gel at the contact site.
