FOLKLORE MEDICINAL PRACTICES OF BADAGA COMMUNITY IN NILGIRI BIOSPHERE RESERVE, TAMILNADU, INDIAKeywords: Ethnobotany , Badagas , Nilgiris , Western Ghats , Medicinal plants , Conservation. Abstract: An ethnobotanical survey was carried out among the ethnic groups of Badagas in Western Ghats of India. Traditional uses of 178 plant species spread over 78 families are described under this study. This tribal is using the plants to treat skin allergy, dysentery, diabetes, jaundice, asthma, fertility, antifertility, dental diseases, etc. The medicinal plants used by them are arranged alphabetically followed by family name, local name, part used, medicinal uses and mode of administration.
