Malfunction of ventriculoperitoneal shunt during pregnancy: A case reportKeywords: Hydrocephalus , Ventriculoperitoneal shunt , Pregnancy , Shunt revision Abstract: Hydrocephalic women treated with ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunt are experiencing longer life expectancy and improved general health in recent years. Although Pregnancy and delivery in these patients can be uncomplicated, obstetrician must watch carefully for the signs and symptoms of VP shunt malfunction which is common during pregnancy. Here, we are reporting a case of 23 years old primigravida who had developed shunt malfunction at 29 weeks and managed conservatively till term. Elective LSCS and shunt (distal end) revision performed at 37 weeks.
