Study of protein metabolism of Gallus gallus domesticus (Linn, 1758) infected by Raillietina (Eucestoda)

The values and dynamics of some indices of protein metabolism were studied in domestic birdGallus gallus domesticus infected with cestodes Railletina echinobothrida, (Magnin, 1881) in natural populationand in experiment. These indices were compared in infected and non- infected birds. Cestode infectionconsiderably affected hosts protein metabolism irrespective of the age; however the chances were morepronounced in younger ones. Increased concentration of -globulin, modified albumin and circulating immunecomplexes was observed in plasma of infected host. The experiment demonstrated the most significantchanges in the protein metabolism of Gallus gallus domesticus 4- 8 days after infestation with cestodesRailletina echinobothrida (Magnin, 1881).
