Knowledge on contraceptive drugs among university students / Conocimiento de los medicamentos anticonceptivos en una población universitaria

From the variety of available contraceptives, the pill is one of the widely used among females between 20 and 34 years old. This study has as main objective to know the knowledge of this contraceptive method among university users, bearing in mind that university education is the highest step in education. The method consisted in applying questionnaire divided in several parts. Questionnaires were filled by the surveyed students under the supervision of the researcher. Data were collected from January to April 2005. 250 questionnaires were retrieved, uniformly distributed among the University areas From the results, regardless the area, it points out that almost 100% of the users have read the insert. About 80% go to their gynecologist onec a year. However, it poitns out the unbalencwe between adverse effects and their consideration as adverse effects by students. As a conclusion, university students in Seville has a common knowledge about contraceptives, regardless their study area.
