SCIRES-IT (SCIentific RESearch and Information Technology - Ricerca Scientifica e Tecnologie dell'Informazione), e-ISSN 2239-4303, is an Open Access journal providing an international forum for the exchange and sharing of know-how in the areas of Digitalization and Multimedia Technologies and Information & Communication Technology (ICT) in support of Cultural and environmental Heritage (CH) documentation, preservation and fruition. It publishes comprehensive reviews on specific fields, regular research papers and short communications in a timely fashion. The Journal has been founded as an expression of the interest of the ITA (Technological Innovation and Accessibility) permanent working Group of CASPUR-CIBER (Interuniversity Committee for Database and E-publishing). It is published by "CASPUR-CIBER Publishing. Pubblicazioni ecosostenibili (http://caspur-ciberpublishing.it), the publishing service of CASPUR (Interuniversity Consortium for Supercomputing for University and Research) in Rome (Italy), promoted by the same ITA working Group since 2009 for the development of open access publishing and for the preservation and restoration of the natural environment. SCIRES-IT is available online on a semi-annual basis and it is a peer-reviewed journal.
