Microstructure of Dormant Cotton Seeds

The roentgenograms of so-called stony, non-swelling, hard seeds of Gossypium hirsutum L., G. barbadense L. and G. herbaceum L. have been investigated. Abnormal morphological structures have been found without germination test. The original data on micro hardness of cotton seed peel and its structural layers are given. The obtained data form new approaches to a problem of seed hardness.
