Cirugia de rescate en carcinoma de mama localmente avanzado

This is a retrospective and descriptive analysis of patients with locally advanced breast cancer treated with salvage surgery in the Breast Pathology Service of the Oncology Institute Dr. Miguel Perez Carre o between January 2000 and December 2005. Age range was 31 to 70 years and gender mostly female. Over 70% of the cases presented left breast tumor. Maximum evolution time was more than 12 months. 60% were stage IIIB. Over 80% received induction chemotherapy, surgery and adjuvant therapy. 10.47% of these presented local recurrence, out of which 80% underwent further surgery consisting of local resection and various forms of closure
