Morphostructural Rhythmics in Developing Cotton Cell-HairsKeywords: Gossipium , fiber , structure , biosynthesis of cellulose , oscilllatory biochemical processes , mechanism of growth , morphostructure of hairs , plasmalemmma Abstract: The processes of alive cotton hairs growth and lengthening were investigated for the seed-buds of five cotton cultivars. Morphostructural features pointing to the oscillatory, periodic character of the process of cellulose biosynthesis and coordinated uniformity of its arrangement in cotton hairs have been found out. Collective pulsing lengthening and coordinated nonmuscular movement of developing hairs and also wavy character of their arrangement in lobule volume of raw cotton are believed to be the reflection of real existence of oscillatory biochemical processes in cotton fruits-bolls.
