Blastocystis hominis: patrones de isoenzimas en aislados humanos. Keywords: Blastocystis , isoenzyme patterns , hexokinase , glucose-6 phosphate isomerase , alanine amine transpherase Abstract: Blastocystis hominis: Isoenzyme patterns from human isolatesBlastocystis hominis is an intestinal parasite of clinical relevance uncertain. In order to identify isoenzymatic patterns of B. hominis, 14 homogenates of isolated directly from the feces of infectedindividuals (7 symptomatic and 7 asymptomatic), and the isoenzyme patterns of hexokinase (HK, EC.2.7.1.1), glucose-6 phosphate isomerase (GPI, EC.5.3.1.9) and alanine amino transpherase (ALT, EC. 2.6.1.2) were investigated by 10% SDS gel electrophoresis in not reducing conditions. The system was standardized with homogenates mix of B. hominis. A total of 34 bands grouped in 16 patterns weredetected. The symptomatic samples showed of 2 patterns for HK and GPI, and 3 for ALT. And asymptomatic samples 4, 3 and 2 HK, GPI AND ALT, respectively. The results showed that B. hominis has a high enzyme polymorphism. In addition, there was no correlation between the patterns of isoenzymes and disease patients.
