Deux occupations rurales de La Tène ancienne à Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine, Les Chauffeaux (Indre-et-Loire) Two early La Tène rural occupations at Sainte-Maure-De-Touraine, Les Chauffeaux (Indre-et-Loire)

La fouille préventive au lieu-dit Les Chauffeaux sur la commune de Sainte Maure-de-Touraine, en Indre-et-Loire, a permis la découverte de deux occupations de l’age du Fer. La première installation, caractérisée par quelques fosses et des batiments, est datée de La Tène A1 soit entre le deuxième et le troisième quart du ve s. avant notre ère. Pour cette première phase du site, un exceptionnel élément de carquois bi-métallique constitue probablement un dép t, rare en contexte d’habitat. La seconde occupation correspond à La Tène B, soit le ive et le début du iiie s. avant notre ère ; elle se compose d’une petite batterie de silos et de quelques batiments sur poteaux. L’analyse du mobilier autorise à proposer un cadre chronologique et environnemental à ces deux établissements ouverts. Ces deux occupations concourent à la connaissance des établissements ruraux du début du deuxième age du Fer en Touraine dans un paysage encore très mal connu. The rescue excavation at Les Chauffeaux in the municipality of Saint Maure-de-Touraine in Indre-et-Loire has enabled the discovery of two occupations from the Iron Age. The first installation, characterized by some pits and buildings, has been dated to La Tène A1 (480-430 BC). For this first phase of the site, an exceptional element of bi-metallic quiver constitutes a likely deposit, rare in this context. The second occupation corresponds to La Tène B, that is the 4th and the beginning of the 3th century BC; it consists of a small battery of silos and of some buildings on posts. The analysis of archaeological material makes it possible to suggest a chronological and environmental frame in these two open establishments. These two occupations contribute to the knowledge of the rural establishments of the beginning of the second Iron Age in Touraine in a still very little known landscape.
