Extraction Factory for Palm-Tree Fat to Produce Biodiesel [O Crescente uso de Poliuretanas Derivadas do óleo de Mamona no Mercado de Polímeros]

The traditional use of oil-based poliols is being systematically replaced by castor oil for the polyurethane production. This new application appears as an alternative to the failed use in the biodiesel industry, giving a second chance to the castor-bean oil production system. As a consequence, the objective of regional development proposed by the Brazilian government can still work resulting in financial profits since castor-bean oil is being used to make products with higher aggregate values.
