“ Le Vallier Ouest ”à Mainvilliers (Eure-et-Loir, 28) : indices d’un habitat du Néolithique ancien (Villeneuve-Saint-Germain) entre Loire et Seine “Vallier Ouest” in Mainvilliers (Eure-et-Loir, France: Indications of a habitat of the Ancient Neolithic (Villeneuve-Saint-Germain) between Loire and Seine

Malgré un contexte délicat d à la nature du substrat et à des structures plus récentes, la fouille du site de “ Le Vallier Ouest ” (Mainvilliers, Eure-et-Loir) a livré des indices de la présence d’un habitat daté du Néolithique ancien. Ces indices sont d’une part, des vestiges matériels (céramiques et lithiques) attribuables de fa on homogène à la fin du Villeneuve-Saint-Germain et d’autre part quelques structures en creux signalant l’emplacement de batiments ou de zones d’activités. Si le corpus lithique possède une originalité concernant sa provenance et la proportion de lames, l‘ensemble de ces éléments et une étude tracéologique rendent bien compte d’une occupation à caractère domestique qui ne peut être appréhendée complètement à cause de la mauvaise conservation du site. Ce site offre néanmoins de nouvelles clés pour appréhender l’expansion néolithique entre Loire et Seine. Despite the delicate context owing to the nature of the substrate and to more recent structures, the excavation site of the Vallier Ouest (Mainvilliers, Eure-et-Loir, France) revealed indications of the presence of a settlement dated from the ancient Neolithic. These indications are, firstly, the material remains (pottery and lithic) attributable evenly to the end of Villeneuve-Saint-Germain and the other few hollow structures indicating the location of buildings or areas of activity. If the lithic corpus is original in its origin and the proportion of blades, these elements as a whole and traceological study tell of an occupation of a domestic nature that cannot be completely understood because of the poor preservation of the site. This site however still offers new keys to the understanding the Neolithic expansion between the Loire and Seine.
