O PAPEL DO ESTADO EM DOCUMENTOS DE POLíTICA EDUCACIONAL: A VIS O DE AGêNCIAS MULTILATERAISKeywords: Multilateral agencies , Educational policy documents , State. Abstract: This article aimed to analyze the role of State’s in educational policy guidance documents prepared by multilateral agencies of the UN System. We investigated what role is assigned to these documents State that competes in the definition of the education reform agenda for countries to “developing” since 1990. It starts from the assumption that multilateral agencies act as a supranationalforce, which impact on national education system and play an important role in the definition of globally structured agenda for education. The sources were analyzed documents from the World Bank (WB) and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC),respectively, “Priorities and strategies for education: review World Bank” (1996) and “Education and Knowledge: Axis of productive transformation with equity” (1995). For the analysis foundthat the role of the State in guiding documents sought legitimization of privatization processes, reorientation of public spending and deregulation of the economy to ensure the profitability of the sector private. As well, appears as promoter equity in education, with a focus on marginalized classes of society, being a factor ofcohesion, the regulator for minimum capital and social policies.
