Youth public policies from the neoliberal perspective:the centrality of educationAbstractThe aim of this writing is to analyze the main elements of youth policies in national and international level since 1990, and on that basis, emphasize its connection with neoliberal policies. The analysis of the object of study is articulated with the historical background of the globalization of capital, with the social transformations resulting from the structural crisis of capital and with the solutions to the crisis forwarded by the hegemonic order, which guarantee the reproduction of capitalist social relations and legitimize strategies of social regulation. From the 1990s, policies of neoliberal alignment were directed to combat poverty, which changed the focus to youth in vulnerable situations and promulgated the centrality of education to reach youth development.
