Las fuentes literarias de la comedia humanística latina "Bophilaria", de Egidio Gallo (Literary sources in the Latin humanistic comedy "Bophilaria", by Egidio Gallo)

Los estudiosos coinciden en se alar que Plauto y Terencio fueron los modelos principales de la comedia humanística latina, a la que proporcionaron argumentos, esquemas, estructura y lengua. Está pendiente, sin embargo, establecer con exactitud y en detalle en qué medida esas fuentes antiguas determinaron el contenido y la forma de cada comedia humanística en particular. En este trabajo me propongo precisamente verificar la influencia que ejerció la antigua comedia romana sobre la comedia humanística latina "Bophilaria" (1505), de Egidio Gallo. Esta pieza, tras un examen pormenorizado de su texto, sorprendentemente aparece casi como un verdadero centón plautino. (Scholars agree on saying that Plauto and Terencio set the benchmark for the Latin humanistic comedy, shaping its plots, its schemes, its structures and its language. Nonetheless it remains to be established exactly how and to what extent these two sources from the past molded the content and the shape of every particular humanistic comedy. In this paper I intend to verify how ancient Roman comedy influenced the Latin humanistic comedy "Bophilaria" (1505), by Egidio Gallo. Surprisingly, after a thorough examination this play looks almost like a bona fide Plautine cento.)
