Humanization and continuing education in icu: role of the nurse

This study aims to analyze the scientific production of nursing about Humanization and continuing education in Intensive Care Units (ICU). As a national systematic review of the literature, were used the databases BDENF, LILACS, MEDLINE with cut of time between 2000 to 2009. Among the 47 posts, were considered 23 publications which analyzed, composed three categories: Humanization in health practices; The humanization and the practice of nursing in ICU and The nurse as health educator in intensive care. Highlights that the approach of the subjects studied is still incipient in the literature, particularly the association of health education and humanization in the practice of nurse ICU worker, constituting a relevant and still unexplored research field.
