Microchthonius elegantisimus n. sp., a new troglobitic pseudoscorpion (Pseudoscorpiones, Chthoniidae) from CroatiaDOI: 10.2298/abs1301405c Keywords: Pseudoscorpiones , Chthoniidae , Microchthonius , M. elegantissimus n. sp. , caves , karst fauna , Croatia Abstract: A new eyeless false scorpion, Microchthonius elegantissimus n. sp. from inside an underground (cave) system, i.e. Jama Golubinka u Kala evin Dugin Njivaman Cave (= Kala eva Jama Pit), Kladnjice, Croatia, is described. This new pseudoscorpion differs from all other congeners. There exists a probability that the new false scorpion belongs to relicts of an old tropical area incorporating the northern subtropical part of the Mediterranean. Morphometric ratios, linear measurements and figures of the taxon are presented in detail.
