Sociodemografic profile and clinical variables of hypertension’s patients was traced assisted in clinical school of physiotherapy from UESB.Keywords: Health , Variables , Arterial Hypertension. Abstract: The High Blood Pressure (HBP) is a chronic, multifactorial and systemic disease. It is estimated that about 15% to 20% of the Brazilian population may be hypertensive. We attempted to trace the sociodemographic profile and clinical variables of patients with hypertension cared at the Physiotherapy School Clinic (PSC) from the Southwestern Bahia State University (UESB), to collaborate with a better understanding and care of patients with HBP. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 34 persons cared for in a Physiotherapy School Clinic from the Southwestern Bahia State University, evaluated betwe en September 2007 and February 2008. We used semi-structured interview. It was observed that 20 were female, 26 were older than 50 years, 32 had studied only till high school, 22 had as income until a minimum wage, 30 made use of the Public Health Service, but 14 were not part groups of Hypertension, 20 nonsmokers, 23 did not consume alcohol, 23 were not diabetic and 23 did not exercise 20 were overweight, 15 had stage 1 hypertension, 6 were not diet, 25 were taking antihypertensive drugs regularly. Drew up a more detailed profile of hypertensive patients cared in PSC / UESB and their variables, which agrees with several studies in the area. Therefore, it becomes easier to understand these patients and a more individualized approach that delivers better care physiotherapy.
