CONTEMPLA O DE OURO PRETO: O MATERIAL E O MíSTICO NA POESIA DE MURILO MENDES

In the poems of Contempla o de Ouro Preto, by Murilo Mendes, the imagination participates of the interaction between the mystical world and the immanent world. In the description of images of saints and angels, distributed in space of Ouro Preto’s city, and in dialogue with the history and religious imagery of the place, Murilo Mendes’s poetry transcends the materiality of the scene, raising it to a dimension ultrasensitive. In this study, we reflect about how Murilo Mendes develops the creative process of images and how imagination participates in the promotion of the mystical of Ouro Preto as the artistic plane.
