Le developpement de flexorage et son devenir industriel The Development of Flexodrilling

Après un rappel des avantages et inconvénients comparés du forage rotary et du flexoforage, cet article retrace l'historique du développement, par l'Institut Fran ais du Pétrole (IFP) du flexoforage. La première période a vu la mise au point du flexoforage léger, et son application à la reconnaissance des fonds marins. Dans la deuxième phase, les composants principaux du flexoforage profond ont été créés par l'IFP et expérimentés en URSS dans le cadre d'un accord de coopération franco-soviétique. La troisième phase du développement correspond en fait, à l'industrialisation du procédé. Elle a été marquée, en 1974, par la création de la société Foraflex et la réalisation de deux campagnes de forage pour la compagnie Nam à Groningue. L'article décrit les étapes actuellement en cours de cette industrialisation et les perspectives relatives au devenir industriel du procédé. After reviewing the comparative advantages of rotary drilling and flexodrilling, this article tracesthe historical developmentof flexodrilling by Institut Fran ais du Pétrole(IFP). During the first phase, light flexodrilling was developed and applied ta seabed reconnaissance. In the second phase, IFP created the main components of deep flexodrilling which were experimented in lheSoviet Union under the terms of the French-Soviet Cooperation Agreement. The third phase of development actually corresponds to the industrialization of the process. In 1974 is was mdrked by the creation of Société Floraflex and two drilling campaigns for Nom at Groningen,the Netherlands. The article describes the current stages of this industrialization and the industrial outlook for the process.
