Cagliari Bastione di San Rémy. Indagini archeologiche presso il complesso monumentale Passeggiata Coperta-Porta dei Due LeoniKeywords: Wall fortifications , Bastions , Casemate , Underground passages , Gate of town Abstract: The excavations made in the complex “Porta dei Due Leoni-Passeggiata Coperta” allowed to highlight some wall fortifications remains built since the beginning of thirteenth century, trasformed in the spanish era with the bastions introduction. Particularly interesting has been the identifying of some sixteenth century underground passages, still less the rediscovery of the Zecca’s bastion casemate with annexed rooms, perhaps relating to mint. The excavation has affected also the Rocco Capellino casemate, accessible from via Spano, which construction concealed a punic-roman cistern, a stone quarry, two medieval roads and, probably, the south access of the Castello’s fortress causing its displacement.
