Evolution des co ts de construction dans l'industrie chimique : élaboration d'un indice global réduit Evolution of Construction Costs in the Chemical Industry: Setting Up a Reduced Overall Index

La mise à jour des co ts de construction d'unités de fabrication se fait à l'aide d'indices globaux variés. Traditionnellement les partisans de la simplicité (indices bicomposants) s'opposent à ceux de la complexité (indices multicomposants). Le but de la recherche présentée dans cet article est d'étudier théoriquement la réduction du nombre de composants d'un indice à l'aide des méthodes statistiques modernes (analyse en composantes principales, régression multiple progressive). Il est ainsi montré qu'un indice réduit selon cette procédure peut reproduire l'évolution d'un indice multicomposants avec une précision déterminée suffisante. L'application à l'élaboration d'un nouvel indice global par réduction d'une combinaison d'indices multicomposants en usage dans l'industrie a été faite. The updating of construction costs for manufacturing plants is done with the help of various overall indices. Traditionally, those in favor of simplicity (dual-component indices) are opposed to those in favor of complexity (multicomponent indices). The aim of the research described in this article is to make a theoretical study of how to reduce the number of components in an index with the help of modern statistical methods (principal-component analysis, progressive multiple regression). It is thus shown that an index reduced by this procedure can reproduce the evolution of a multicomponent index with sufficient determined accuracy. This has been applied to setting up a new overall index by reducing a combination of multicomponent indices in use in industry.
