Survey on security challenges in VANET

Recent advances in development of Wireless Communication inVehicular Adhoc Network (VANET) has provided emergingplatform for industrialists and researchers. Vehicular adhocnetworks are multihop networks with no fixed infrastructure. Itcomprises of moving vehicles communicating with each other.One of the main challenge in VANET is to route the dataefficiently from source to destination. Designing an efficientrouting protocol for VANET is tedious task. Also because ofwireless medium it is vulnerable to several attacks. Sinceattacks mislead the network operations, security is mandatoryfor successful deployment of such technology. This survey papergives brief overview of different routing protocols. Also attempthas been made to identify major security issues and challengesassociated with different routing protocols.
