Comparative study of functionalize and non-functionalized carbon nanotube for Removal of Copper from polluted waterKeywords: Carbon nanotubes , Copper , Atomic Absorption Spectrometer , functionalization , non-functionalization Abstract: The performance of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) to absorb copper (Cu) in aqueous solution was investigated. Batch mode adsorption experiment was conducted to determine the effect of pH, temperature, CNTs dosages, and time. Comparison between non-functionalized and functionalized of CNTs was performed. The correlation of Langmuir Isotherm which noted by value of R2= 0.9603 gives a high confident in the result. The result indicates that functionalized CNTs by using H2SO4 and HNO3 have higher percent removal of Cu (94.5%) can be achieved at pH5, 0.2 mg of CNTs, contact time 101 minutes and temperature of 90°C.
