Abstract:

Fabric and garments are often given certain treatments to achieve a desired color, effect or performance. One such effect is achieving better dimensional stability and crease resistance of the fabric. Imparting crease resistance with certain conventional chemicals has a release of formaldehyde effect which causes danger to the skin. So ecofriendly crease resistance finishes are being carried out using synthesized Polycarboxylic acid and dimethyleneurea. Chemicals are synthesized for betted durability and applied on cotton and silk fabrics for improving the dimensional stability of it. Polycarboxylicacid and dimethylene urea are synthesized using sonication treatment, with ultra sound waves passing through it at 10000 decibels and centrifugation treatment is given for even dispersion of the converted particles. After centrifugation the size particles are analyzed using Dynamic Light Scattering method. Analyzed particles are treated on the fabric using padding process and then cured. As a result, the controlled sample and the treated sampled are compared and the crease recovery angle is checked using Shirley Crease Recovery Tester.
