CONCILIANDO A FOME COM A VONTADE DE PRODUZIR: A TRANSVERSALIDADE NAS POLíTICAS PúBLICAS

The article discusses the process of deploying the Food Acquisition Programme and its implications in the context of food safety and nutrition of the people involved. The work is based on data and information obtained on an exploratory study in southern Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil. The authors seek to show that the state intervention may be capable to interfere in the productive dynamic of rural families, opening new perspectives for their social reproduction. The conception of empowering public policies is in accord to the new approach to development, which conceives economy as a wide structure. As to food distribution and supply of those populations, it is possible to see the wide fashion of the programme, in special in the alimentary safety. It was found some impacts caused by the programme, in particular the inclusion of marginalized social groups in the production process; the recognition of region products; the encourage in rural families the consume of their own farm's production, as well as contribute positively to rural development.
