Creating the Symmetry in Weight Using the Additive Algorithm

DEA models calculate the relative efficiency of decision making units called optimistic efficiency. This means if the DMU is deemed efficient by the models; it has been calculated while considering the best case scenario; and therefore it cannot be accepted with certainty. Other tests have to be done in order to ensure that the studied DMU is really efficient; or else, it should be replaced by another model with a higher efficiency within the production possibility set. One way to diagnose this problem is to use the additive model. This method does not calculate the efficiency score of the DMUs, but strong efficiencies are distinguished from the weak ones. In this essay a method is presented which uses infinite norm and additive algorithm. This method reduces the number of variables. Keywords: Additive Algorithm, Efficiency, Decision Making, DEA Models.
