Situación de la Psicología en Costa Rica

Psychology in Costa Rica began 20 years ago a subject matter taught in high schools. At the same time the Faculty of Education of the University of Costa Rica began teaching Educational Psychology. Professional psychology began in 1957 with the arrival of foreign-trained psychologists. Five years ago the Center of Psychological Research was created in the Faculty of Sciences Letters of the University of Costa Rica. Presently there is a dozen of psychologists in the country,the majority of them devoted to teaching in the university. Professlonal opportunities are increasing.
