Abstract:

This article approaches the subject of transference in the clinic of psychosis, from Lacan s idea that the whole transference theory is closely linked to the desire of the psychoanalyst. Initially, we present the context from where Freud's transference concept came from, based on neurosis, specifically the hysteria. Then, we place Lacan's entrance on the psychoanalytic ground, emphasizing that, contrary to Freud, he departed from the psychosis to get into the psychoanalysis, and this clinic was what actually made him read Freud. Therefore, Lacan launches his beginning in the psychoanalytic field through his PhD thesis a clinical case, Aimée, fictitious name for Marguerite Anzieu, developing a theory of the paranoia, still very much related to the psychiatry, but already blending with the Freudian style. Developing the clinic of psychosis, Lacan invites us not to withdraw before it, venturing at the existence of transference. It is important to emphasize, however, that despite not going forward with the construction and elaboration of the clinic of psychosis, Freud prepared the path so Lacan could go ahead working on his theory. The articulation between the concepts of transference and the desire of the psychoanalyst, heart of this article, was crafted through the analysis of a clinical case in a mental health care institution, evidencing the analyst's role and the function of the analyst desire, crucial for the development of the case.
