Abstract:

Gall bladder is the disease of WOMEN – It is being said that Fatty, forty, fertile, female with right hypochondrium pain always suspect Gall bladder disease. Gallstone disease is one of the most common problems affecting the digestive tract. Prevalence of gallstones from 11 to 36%. The prevalence of gallstones is related to many factors, including age, gender, and ethnic background, Obesity, pregnancy, dietary factors, Crohn's disease, terminal ileal resection etc.Acute Cholecystitis is secondary to gallstones in 90 to 95% of cases. Obstruction of the cystic duct by a gallstone is the initiating event that leads to gallbladder distension, inflammation, and oedema of the gallbladder wall.Here in our study we found shifting of sex and age factors.Objective: To study the various presentations of Gall Bladder diseases and to study their outcome after Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy.Conclusion: Gall bladder diseases are the commonest problem encountered by a surgeon, with variable presentations. Not only female but preponderence is changing towards male sex.
