The topographical-anatomical relationships of the liver, spleen and pancreas under normal and in chronic pancreatitis

Abstract:

In this study, conducted on a computer tomograph Philips Brilliance CT 16-slice software Brilliance Work-space examined topographic anatomical relationship of the liver, spleen and pancreas of 30 volunteers in the normal (control group) and 30 patients with chronic pancreatitis (experimental group) in remission and the duration of the disease from 1 year to 5 years of age from 33 to 76 years. Topography of the pancreas, liver, and spleen in patientsof the experimental group did not differ from those of control. The patients of the experimental group pancreas in most cases was S-shaped, with a simultaneous increase in the length and the angle between the head and the body in the horizontal plane, which may predisposing factor in the development of chronic pancreatitis.
