La familia es una institución social y, tomando como base sus finalidades, una unidad social, plural y compleja, no una simple reunión de unidades, de individualidades separadas o aisladas, por lo que debemos protegerla, atendiendo al interés superior de ésta y no enfrentar los intereses de cada uno de los integrantes, sino compatibilizarlos. Family is a social institution, and, on the basis of its purposes, a social, plural and complex unit, it is not a simple group of units, of individualities separated or isolated, and we must protect it, taking into account the major interest of this one, and not to face the interests of each member, but to make compatible the interests of all its members.
