What kind of relationship could nationalism, which is including sublethal dosen romanticism, and modernization, which is called that it basicly aims to put rationalism into daily practices, have? The nationalist thought, which has emerged as a last option for conserving the state and the progress of Ottoman-Turkish modernization isochronicly, accrued with solidarist-corporatist conceiving and then enhanced a highly paranoid perception against all resistant or outstander components why they objected the monolithic social structure that had offered. In this study we aimed to deal with the problems of Turkish westernization, those are based on continuity, novelty and the status of state, and also the nationalism between two wings of Turkish modernization (Jadeedism-Quadeemism)with the effects of this separation on Turkish political culture. Concludes we gained are that we have no single integral modernization but some various modernizations, we have no integral nationalism but some various nationalisms and we have no integral feel of belonging for any civilization yet but have strongly ambivalenced among some various civilizations.
