Community Reading and Reading Community: Participatory Research on Social Cultural System in Mollo, Timor Tengah Selatan

This paper is the first of a two-part serialized article in this issue. The first part presents the research results in Mollo communities, in South Central Timor, about the history of the formation of the villages (kuan) and the various systems that set the pattern of social life in the communities, such as kinship systems, marriage and inheritance patterns, as well as ownership and land use systems . In the second part presents further explanation regarding land management in relation to food production.
